RACO’s Verbatim Gateway system puts pump station alarm monitoring and reporting for water and wastewater treatment plants right at your fingertips. Programming, status checks and alarm notification are all done through the phone.
The system is compatible with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and PC-based HMI/SCADA systems, and can monitor up to 144 points at once. It can even monitor multiple PLCs on multiple networks and provide communication between networks that are incompatible.
Pump station personnel can communicate with the Verbatim Gateway system via a phone, cell phone or numeric pager to perform a variety of functions. The system acts as an alarm monitor and can be programmed with up to 16 phone numbers to call if an alarm condition is sensed. Staff also can call into the system to get status reports in the form of voice messages. The system includes a microphone that allows personnel to listen to onsite sounds or communicate with a co-worker who is on location.
Operators also can also call in to the system to perform programming functions, such as setting alarm parameters, entering phone numbers to call in the case of an alarm or recording voice messages. The Verbatim Gateway system’s memory can store any spoken message, which will be replicated by the electronic voice technology to eliminate any chance of confusion or misunderstanding.
The system is durable and highly self-sustaining. Its rugged construction is built to last, and it includes a rechargeable battery that provides up to 13 hours of power in case of an electrical outage. The Verbatim Gateway also includes self-testing diagnostics that ensure the system is working properly and signal an alarm if communications between it and a PLC are disrupted.
