Analog Flowmeter
Can I use a analog flowmeter.
Yes, analog flowmeters work just like a pressure transducer or any analog device. For Flow Study and reports, we prefer analog because
AA.com captures Min, Max, Avg, and actual. Scaling is same to define 4 - 20 or X & Y. Badger has a great line of flowmeters. I would note to the customer that RACO doesn't manufacture or support flowmeters, but we have worked with Badger in the past and have had good results. I would recommend Dynasonics product from Badger if it is strapped on the pipe. If it is Inline within the piping, any Badger product. The issue with adding an Inline Flowmeter, you must have a described distant of Straight Piping without couplings or joints, before and then after the Flowmeter. This is because a coupling, joint, or fitting cause an uneven surface. With the water turbulence, there are air bubbles that form in the stream. These air bubbles cause misreading on the flowmeter. That is why I prefer to see a Strapped-On Flowmeter. Any straight run of piping more than 6 feet, they work well.
