Why are there delays in communications between the web site and the AlarmAgent WRTU?
Some delays are just a part of the system, some delays are designed into the system.
Configuration changes and poll requests from the web site are generally sent out as soon as possible.
The delay is in waiting for the WRTU to get the request and then reply with a response. The web site must wait for this response from the WRTU before displaying any changes on the web site. This ensures information is current and correct. Some delays are designed, such as waiting 30 seconds after a local configuration session to send those changes. This allows users to make further changes or corrections before the change is actually sent to the web site. This helps reduce the amount of unnecessary reports sent back and forth through cell towers.
To inquire about a specific delay, please use the RACO Support Center "Ask a Question" tab above and have it quickly answered.
