Do you have instructions for Field Installation of BICM1 to Indicate Armed / Disarmed and On / Off status of Verbatim / Verbatim Gateway autodialer?
Items provided in installation kit:
1 ea I/O Module
1 ea battery clip with standoffs installed
4 ea Tie-Wraps
1 ea Adhesive backed Tie-Wrap clip
1 ea wire 22g stranded, 11", YELLOW (TS1 terminal 5)
1 ea wire 22g stranded, 11", BLACK (TS1 terminal 8)
1 ea wire 22g stranded, 11", RED (TS1 terminal 1)
Installation Instructions:
1) Remove 120 VAC power to the autodialer and disconnect one of the battery leads.
2) Remove the autodialers gray metal battery clip via two 6-32 hex KEP nuts. A ground lug from the front panel will also be freed with this clip.
3) Temporarily remove the Interface Module from the included replacement battery clip which is fitted with four threaded standoffs, via the four 4-40 x _ screws. Mount the replacement battery clip to the autodialer, firmly tightening the two KEP nuts with the ground lug under one of them.
4) Remount the Interface Module to the four threaded standoffs on the replacement battery clip via the four 4-40 x _ screws. The module should be lined up squarely, with the three provided wires facing leftward and the word RACO appearing at the top, before the screws are tightened.
5) Using a small soldering iron with rosin core (not acid core) solder, carefully solder the three provided wire leads to the points on the rear of the front panel circuit board, following the enclosed diagram. Use the included tie-wraps and adhesive clip to provide stress relief so that the solder connections are not stressed when the door is opened and closed. Refer to photo and diagram.
6) Make wiring connections to terminal strip TS2 (lower terminal strip) so that the contact closures provided by the module will activate the remote indicating devices.
Armed/Disarmed indication: Contacts from C1 to NO1 close when the product is Disarmed. Contacts from C1 to NC1 close when the product is Armed. Exception: when product is Off, contacts from C1 to NC1 are always closed and C1 to NO1 are always open.
On/Off indication: Contacts from C2 to NO2 close when the product is turned on. Contacts from C2 to NC2 close when the product is turned Off.
7) Jumper blocks should be installed on both JP1 and JP2.
8) Reconnect the battery, then reconnect 120 VAC power. Turn on the product and test.
Important note regarding limited contact power ratings:
The relay contacts on this module can handle only limited amounts of current and voltage.
At 120 VAC, the current limit is _ amp, which includes any inrush current. Incandescent bulbs over 10 watts at 120 VAC should not be connected directly to these contacts because of their substantial inrush current.
For Voltages under 60 VAC, the current can be up to one amp.
For DC voltages, the current must not exceed one amp, and the product of current and voltage must not exceed 30 Watts.
BICM1 for Verbatim / Verbatim Gateway Module Detail
Connection and Operation
This module is factory configured and wired so that one of its two relays (K2) activates whenever the Verbatim autodialer is turned on. The other relay (K1) activates when the dialer is both on and disarmed.
Make wiring connections to terminal strip TS2 (lower terminal strip) so that the contact closures provided by the module will activate remote indicating devices as needed
Important note on limited contact power ratings:
The relay contacts on this module can handle only limited amounts of current and voltage. Thus intermediate relays may need to be installed depending upon the load presented by the remote indicating devices.
At 120 VAC, the current limit is ½ amp, which includes any inrush current. Incandescent bulbs over 10 watts at 120 VAC should not be connected directly to these contacts because of their substantial inrush current which is many times their operating current.
For Voltages under 60 VAC, the current can be up to one amp.
For DC voltages, the current must not exceed one amp, and the product of current and voltage must not exceed 30 Watts.
